In the last issue of Blogging News 4 U, I promised to tell you more about the Blog Explosion community, so here you go.

There is so much to tell about Blog Explosion I will have to split it up over several newsletters. I have been with Blog Explosion since Sept. 2004, and have made many friends there.

One of the exciting things they over is "Battle of the Blogs". You can put your blog up against others and then readers vote on the best blog. You can wager anywhere from 25-200 credits on each battle. The blog with the most votes wins 70% of the total wager and the other 30% is split between the 15 members who voted in the battle! It's great fun and very addicting! One of my blogs made it to the top 50.

Here are a few tips to help you with your blog.

First and most important is use the KIS principle. Keep It Simple! I would recommend using Blogger, they offer a very easy to use blog template. After your blog has been up and running for awhile, you can always dress it up and redesign it later on.

Write about things that you have a passion for. This is a place to express your feelings. Be passionate and soon you will a following of loyal readers with similar interests.

Interact with your readers. It is very important that your blog has the comment feature enabled so readers can leave comments. Then you need to respond to those who do and visit their blog or e-mail them a note thanking them for their visit and comment. This will establish a relationship and develop a loyal reader base for your blog.

Make sure you keep your blog updated regularly. It is a good idea to make a new post every single day! The most popular blogs are those that are frequently updated.

You've finally created a blog and you've made your first post. Now how do you get people to actually read what you're blogging about?
